Abstract

Acute pharyngitis is a common disease among the adult population. The most common causative agents of acute inflammatory diseases of the pharynx are β-hemolytic streptococci.
Oromucous sprays, which are used in this case for treatment, are a special dosage form that ensures the spraying of particles of the active substance and their adhesion to the mucous membrane of the oral cavity and pharynx.
The purpose of the study: to determine the therapeutic effect and the level of bacteriological colonization of the drug "Lorosan" for the treatment of acute pharyngitis.
Materials and methods: 32 patients, aged from 20 to 27 years, with symptoms corresponding to the nosological form of acute pharyngitis were examined. Clinical examination of patients was carried out at the beginning of the disease and one week after treatment with Lorosan. The clinical effectiveness of the drug was determined by analyzing changes in complaints and the condition of the mucous membrane of the oropharynx.
Results: After using the drug "Lorosan" for 7 days, all patients noted a decrease in pain in the throat, a significant decrease in the sensation of a foreign object in the throat and the number of secretions, normalization of the general condition and full recovery of the voice. The number of caseous tonsillitis in the tonsillar lacunae decreased, and the unpleasant smell from the mouth disappeared.
The obtained results of the microbiological study of the biomaterial taken after 7 days of treatment with the drug "Lorosan" showed a sharp decrease in the number of microorganisms and the level of their spread of the posterior pharynx.
Thus, the new natural oromucous spray from sunflower is an effective drug in the monotherapy of acute pharyngitis in adults, as it allows to significantly reduce the clinical symptoms of the disease and significantly reduce the bacterial colonization of the oropharynx by the causative agents of inflammatory processes.
